The party ventures deeper into the cavern and finds a room with a pillar in the center with a
pile of gems on top if it. The pillar is surrounded by a field of “Glassrock” and Kathra manages to cut herself fairly deep in the process of investigating this.
The party is naturally wary of just a random pillar with 15,000 GP worth of Gems, so the Arcane Trickster uses her mage hand to steal acquire them from a safe distance. Nothing happens so it looks like the party’s caution was unwarranted this time.
As the team travels still further along, The find another strange room with a disturbing statue and still more Ropers. The fight goes badly at first, with the Warlock being taken down, and the fighter unable to break free from the roper’s grasp. However with the cleric healing spread around and the Kathra finally breaking free, the heros manage to win.
Deeper into the cave system, the players find a short maze with a strange stone tree with gems for fruit in the middle. The begin to pick the gems from the tree and a Xorn attacks using it’s ability to pass through stone to pass back and forth through the maze walls, giving the group a bit of trouble.
With a bit of luck and quick action, the group manages to defeat the Xorn and then decide the center of the maze is a good place to spend the night and rest for the night.
